MILK HOUSE FARM MARKET Summer Evening Tour & Potluck

On Wednesday, August 4, the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance continues its series of summer farm evenings with a potluck supper at 6:30 pm followed by the 7:30 pm farmer-guided tour of the Milk House Farm Market in Newtown, one of the area’s premier small farms.
There is no charge and no need to register for the event: just bring a picnic dish to share and your own beverage,eating equipment and chairs. The event runs rain or shine.
Brenda Slack, a fourth-generation farmer, and her father, Carl Slack, now farm their 120 acres in Upper Makefield in 30 acres of produce and 90 acres of soybeans, field corn, hay and straw; Brenda also keeps 300 laying hens. Her retail outlet in the old milk house of the Slacks’ former dairy barn is open 7:00 till 7:00, seven days a week. Milk House Farm Market is located at 1118 Slack Road (between Stoneybrook and Woodhill Roads), Newtown, PA 18940. The farm tour series, which replaces the BCFA’s general meetings on the first Wednesday of the month from June through September, ends its season on September 1 with a farm evening at WoodsedgeWools in Stockton, N.J., owned by Linda Walker and son, Brent Walker.
